The Petitioner, an importer and distributor of water bottles, chopsticks, and other household products, 
sought to continue employing the Beneficiary as its chief executive officer. The company requested a 
two-year extension of his status as an intracompany transferee in the L-1 A, nonimrnigrant visa category. 
See Immigration and Nationality Act (the Act) section 10 l(a)(15)(L), 8 U.S.C. § 11 0l(a)(15XL). 
The Director of the California Service Center denied the petition. The Director concluded that the 
Petitioner did not demonstrate the claimed, executive nature of the proposed, U.S. work . See section 
101 (a)(43)(B) of the Act (defining the term "executive capacity"). 
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicate that, in August 2021, after the 
filing of this appeal, the Beneficiary obtained lawful permanent resident status. Thus, adjudication of 
this appeal regarding his nonimmigrant visa status is moot. 
As a matter of prudence, administrative tribunals may dismiss appeals and motions that no longer 
retain practical significance. Mattera/Reyes, 26 I&NDec. 528,528 n.3 (BIA 2015) (citation omitted). 
We will therefore dismiss the appeal as moot. 
ORDER: The appeal is dismissed.
